Why the crows attack people???
Crows seldom attack people in the wild.
They’ll chastise you from a safe distance if you do something that irritates them, but they nearly never attack you — at worst, they’ll swoop over your head without harming you.
This guideline does not apply during the nesting season.
During the spring and summer months, most crows are preoccupied with the huge chore of raising their young — and they’re excellent parents!
Following the construction of their nest, they spend three weeks incubating eggs and another month or so tirelessly delivering food to their nestlings and safeguarding them from the elements and hungry predators.
In the United States, parents are most agitated between late May and early July, when their young have fled the nest but are unable to fly properly.
Furthermore, these young crows are still quite ignorant about their surroundings and do not know how to run from harmful creatures.
During this period, the parents become extremely protective of their children, attacking any animal that gets too close. These assaults serve two purposes: they drive away deadly predators and they teach their young about danger.
If you are attacked by a diving crow, there is nearly usually a juvenile crow or a nest nearby.
You can halt the attacks by leaving the area — crossing the street, turning around, or hurrying through.
If you are unable to modify your path (maybe because you are at home), you can defend yourself by covering your head or waving your arms above you.
You can also try confronting your attacker; crows prefer to attack from behind and are hesitant to dive-bomb a threatening animal from the front.
Wearing sunglasses on the back of your head works remarkably effectively since many crows have difficulty determining which direction you’re truly gazing.
As their children grow better fliers and more scared of danger, the parents become less violent, and most assaults in the United States cease by mid-July.
Make an effort not to take these insults personally.
After all, they are just decent parents doing everything they can to keep their children safe.
That is not something we should begrudge them.
